Another type of object in Active Directory is the computer object. There are only two types of computer objects in Active Directory. The first is the domain controller object. A domain controller object is created when you promote a server to become a domain controller.

Domain controller objects are located by default in the Domain Controllers OU. While you can move domain controllers out of this OU, you should do so with caution. Many of the domain controller security settings are configured on the Domain Controllers OU, and moving a domain controller out of this container will effectively modify the security settings for any moved domain controllers.
