Active Directory Installation Options
To start the installation of Active Directory, you can use one of several graphical interfaces, or start it from the command line. The graphical interfaces will install and configure the directory service as well as create and initialize the directory data store. Since Active Directory requires a DNS implementation to be authoritative for the planned domain, the installation process will install and configure the DNS Server service if an authoritative DNS server is not already in place.
