Chapter 15. Buddies

VIRTUAL WORLDS ARE social networks. Their popularity relies heavily on the ability of avatars to interact and form bonds. The most common type of bond formed between avatars is becoming buddies, also known as friending. Once you have a bond with another avatar, the virtual world gives you ways to interact directly with that avatar, whether through private chatting, playing games, or other unique interactions.

• Discuss the concept of relationships and describe a few types.

• Go over different ways a relationship can be formed.
