Prepaid Expenses
At the end of each period, the company needs to review each item that was recorded as a prepaid expense to determine whether any of this expense has been used up. If so, the company should debit the expense and credit the prepaid expense for the portion used up. The balance remaining in Prepaid expense should represent the amount of expense left to be used.
