Help Calibrate Learning Requirements

The first step you can take to help your team members accelerate their on-the-job learning involves helping them calibrate their learning requirements. People sometimes have difficulty estimating how skillful or knowledgeable they will need to become within certain areas to succeed. Chapter 5 of the Participant's Guide lists four different skill levels, from novice to master. As a coach you can provide valuable developmental coaching assistance by helping your team members use this list to set learning priorities that best support their development and career goals.
