Does Your Career Target Reflect Your Priorities?

Quite often, in development planning we stay so focused on the task side of the equation that we never stop to ask ourselves two fundamental questions:

  1. “At this point in my career and my life, what is most important to me in terms of both my career and my personal life?”
  2. “Are these priorities reflected in my long-term career goals?”

These questions are important because, while we continually change over time, we seldom pause to give ourselves permission to determine whether those changes are reflected in our long-term personal and career goals.
