Why the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P)?

The emerging P3P standard (Platform for Privacy Preferences) is to provide a standard means of implementing privacy controls in electronic commerce. A first draft was issued on May 19, 1998. There are updates which you should access and study in relation to your situation and needs.
