Chapter 5

Sampling and Quantization

Håkan Johansson,    Division of Electronics Systems, Department of Electrical Engineering Linköping University, Sweden, hakanj@isy.liu.se

Abstract

This chapter discusses the basic principles of sampling, signal reconstruction, quantization, and discrete-time modeling of mixed-signal systems. The chapter also includes the principles and signal reconstruction methods required in a particular scheme for high-speed analog-to-digital conversion referred to as time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters.
