Digital Imaging: Capture, Display, Restoration, and Enhancement

Abstract

This section of the reference, as the title suggests, reviews the state of the art in digital imaging starting with capture and ending with display. Between these two extremes, we review basic restoration and enhancement methods. We leave coding, a vast and more specialized topic to another section. Here we concentrate on capture by cameras and scanners, display by both hard and soft copy devices.
