Beyond language and style

This chapter could also be called ‘Beyond practical questions and elementary theory of abstracting’. In it, we intend to give a more detailed treatment of issues which were partially touched upon in the previous parts of the book. They will be of continuing interest for those who want to be acquainted with these problems beyond the strictly practical issues of abstracting. While this chapter may not definitely be considered ‘obligatory’ reading in this book, we are convinced, nonetheless, that it addresses questions that are of the utmost interest and deserve the attention of the reader.
