Using the Menus

The menus in WordPerfect work the same way as in any other Windows program, so if you've been working with a computer for more than a few days, you've probably already figured this out. However, for those of you who have just purchased your first computer and might need a little help with this, I'm including a short section.

In a Windows application, menus are called pull-down menus because when you open a menu, it cascades down into the window. In WordPerfect, they open up into the white workspace. You can use the mouse or the keyboard to select from the menus.

Working with the mouse

  • To open a menu with the mouse, click the menu name.

  • To open a submenu, point to an item with an arrow next to it.

  • To select an item, click it.
