Joining Cells
A series of cells can be joined to create one big cell. This is usually done for a long title, but other situations also might call for joined cells. Remember, you can join cells horizontally or vertically, so you could have a vertically aligned label alongside several rows.
You can join cells in rows, in columns, or in both rows and columns. Data in a joined cell can be used in calculations just like any other cell. The same goes for aligning and formatting—you can format a joined cell just as you would a single cell.
