How Rules Are Designed

You can design rules using the Rules Wizard, which provides some predefined rule templates and also enables you to create rules from a blank rule template. The Rules Wizard is started when you create a new rule or edit an existing rule using the Rules and Alerts dialog.

You can create simple rules without using the Rules Wizard by using the Create Rule option. You will learn about this option in the “Creating a Rule” section of this chapter.

The following predefined rule templates are supplied in the Rules Wizard:
