Chapter 19. Organizing E-mail with Rules
In this chapter
Understanding how rules work.
Learning how to create rules.
Knowing how to run rules.
In Outlook rules are used to perform actions either when new messages arrive in your Inbox or when you send a message. Rules can also be run manually at any time you want. Actions that rules can take include moving, deleting, and flagging items; playing a sound when certain items arrive in your Inbox; and sending alerts to mobile devices. Rules are used to help automatically organize the way items are filed and to take specific actions when e-mails of interest are sent or received.
