Timing Things

In many types of jobs, such as sales, you need to track how much time you spend on various activities, such as the time spent on business calls or answering e-mails. Journal entries are ideal for this purpose because they have Start Timer and Pause Timer controls that can be used to track elapsed time.

To time an activity using a Journal entry, open a new or existing Journal entry and select the Start Timer button. Minimize the Journal entry and start the activity you want to time. You can also make notes about a phone conversation or other activity in the notes field of the Journal item to document the activity or to remind you of details about the activity.
