Using the Journal

The Outlook Journal is the equivalent of an electronic diary. Some of its uses are to track your work with other Office applications, log phone calls, log e-mails to and from selected recipients, and time various activities.

To show the Journal button in the Navigation Pane, select the Configure Buttons icon, shown as a double right arrow; select Add or Remove Buttons; and then select Journal on the button's fly-out menu.

Journal entries can be forwarded, just like any other Outlook item. Select Actions, Forward to open an e-mail message with the selected Journal entry attached to the e-mail. The Forward action is also available ...
