Using Hover Buttons

Hover buttons, also sometimes referred to by FrontPage as interactive buttons, get their name because their appearance changes when a mouse pointer moves (or hovers) over them or when they are clicked. Sound and image files can be added to hover buttons for more pizzazz. These buttons can be used for a multitude of purposes, including the following (to name a few):

  • As navigation tools

  • To open a form or start an e-mail message

  • As form options—for example, to indicate a Yes or No answer

Unlike standard, one-dimensional buttons, hover buttons are composed of three different images, each representing a different button state:

  • One for the normal or unselected state

  • A second for the hover state, when a mouse pointer is passed over ...
