Client-Side Scripting
Client-side scripting refers to a computer program embedded into a Web page. The code for this program is interpreted and executed by the viewer's browser. The client-side qualifier is necessary when talking about this type of scripting because there are also scripts that are processed on the server, such as with Active Server Pages (ASP). While server-side scripts are great for processing forms and dynamically creating data-driven pages, they are, for the most part, used only to generate the initial HTML code for a page. A client-side script runs once the page is loaded into the visitor's browser and is capable of dynamically changing and responding to the page while it is being viewed.
