Linking with Pictures

Linking with pictures—navigation buttons, photograph thumbnails, clip art, and so on—is done in the same manner as linking with text. Select the image, then create the hyperlink. Whereas text links are underlined by default, pictures acquire a colored border when used as a link. These can be unsightly and generally aren't necessary.

To modify picture link borders, do the following:

1.
Click on the picture.
2.
Choose Format, Properties (or right-click the picture, then choose Picture Properties). The Picture Properties dialog box opens.
3.
On the Appearance tab, shown in Figure 5.5, change the Border Thickness setting. If you set this to zero (0), the border will be removed, but the link will remain.
