Make the Important Rather Than the Urgent Your Priority in Life

Introduction

The reading from Drucker this week has to do with Peter’s personal choices in focusing his time on the important, not the urgent. There is a lot to be learned from his example that can be applied to our own lives.

Many of the readings in this volume come out of his work during the last third of a very long and productive life. This is work he considered important. Each of us can learn how to distinguish between the important and the urgent from the example of the way Peter Drucker did it himself. Drucker lived to be almost ninety-six, but many of us will not. Acting on the lessons in this reading should be a priority for us right now!
