Individuals May Need a Process to Help Them Move from Success to Significance

Introduction

When people who have had great satisfaction with their careers retire and try to make the shift to significance, they often flounder and become discouraged. They may flounder for many reasons but usually part of the reason is that they do not understand themselves. They know they want more in life than travel and socialization, and they know they want to continue to make a contribution. Often the coordinators of programs do not completely appreciate or fully utilize these volunteers’ talents.
