Control Procurements

Control Procurements is the process of managing procurement relationships, monitoring contract performance, and making changes and corrections as appropriate. This process requires much coordination and integration with the project and between vendors on the project. Controlling procurements involves:

  • Reviewing performance and comparing it to the agreed upon plan and contractual provisions
  • Implementing preventive and corrective actions as appropriate
  • Managing changes and revisions to the work and the agreements
  • Ensuring appropriate payments to the vendors
  • Coordinating work between vendors and the project

Because contracts are legal documents there is usually someone from the contracts or procurement department on the team who handles all the contractual issues and obligations.
