Social Capital in Stakeholder Networks
In the previous chapter we talked rather loosely about networks of relationships. In this chapter we look at the concepts and distinctions needed to actually measure relationship strength and the level of sociopolitical risk in the environment. These kinds of measures are what make it possible to realistically assess the dynamics of an issue and develop strategies for managing it.
The goal of measuring relationship strength is ambitious. Relationships are multifaceted. There are hundreds of dimensions and qualities that one could potentially measure. How can we ever know which ones will matter for issues management?
