7. PersonasFind the Best Way to Put Your Team—or Your Client—in Your Users’ Shoes

Personas are often a topic of debate among user experience practitioners. Opinions range from how much content is needed to how much research is needed to whether they provide any value to projects. Some people question whether or not they belong in the process at all. Regardless of where you position yourself, personas may be used to help your project team and your client empathize with their users. Personas can deliver a gut check to many parts of your project—business requirements, visual design, or quality assurance—by providing insight into who your audience is and what their expectations and behaviors are.
