8. Content Strategy: More Than Words

Content strategy is your friend. It is one of those friends that you do not always recognize at first, because as a stranger it can be intimidating. There is always a little fear of the unknown and it is daunting when you set off to try something new, but once you start understanding the work that content strategy does and the outputs that come from that work—and how it can help guide you to better UX—it all starts to make sense. You need content strategy, and with a little bit of effort made to get to know it, you can find yourself with a new best friend that only makes you appear smarter to others, tells you that you smell really good, and says your butt looks great in those jeans.
