27.1 Digital TV Broadcasting
This is probably the most common way that compressed video is delivered, at least when measured by the number of receivers being viewed by end users. The main benefit of broadcasting is that although just one copy is transmitted, everybody can see it by receiving it on an aerial antenna and then decoding it into a form that can be viewed on a TV set.
The UK digital TV industry has rolled out three fundamentally different platforms, and a fourth is rapidly gaining acceptance.
