At certain points during the development cycle, teams need to stop, look at what they are doing, and make subtle mid-course changes if the need arises. Teams refer to the way of performing this “self-analysis” as a “reflection” or “retrospective” (Kerth 2001). Scrum Teams manage change and risk by adapting. But to adapt, they must identify opportunities for change and decide if they should undertake them.
