tee: Copies standard input to standard output and one or more files

tee [options] file-list

The tee utility copies standard input to standard output and to one or more files.

Arguments

The file-list is a list of the pathnames of files that receive output from tee. If a file in file-list does not exist, tee creates it.

Options

Options preceded by a double hyphen (––) work under Linux only. Options named with a single letter and preceded by a single hyphen work under Linux and OS X. Without any options, tee overwrites the output files if they exist and responds to interrupts.

–a

Appends output to existing files rather than overwriting them.

–i

Causes tee not to respond to the SIGINT interrupt.
