Displays names of users

who [options]

who am i

The who utility displays the names of users currently logged in, their terminal device numbers, the times they logged in, and, if applicable, the corresponding remote hostname or X display.

Arguments

When given two arguments (traditionally, am i), who displays information about the user giving the command. If applicable, the user's login name is preceded by the hostname of the system running who (as in kudos!alex).

Options

--count

-q quick Lists the user names only, followed by the number of users logged in on the system.

--heading

-H Displays a header.

--idle
