rcs

Creates or changes the attributes of an RCS file

rcs [options] file-list

The rcs utility creates or changes the attributes of RCS files. The options control the operations performed on the files. The rcs utility is part of RCS (Revision Control System—page 871), which is a group of related utilities that manage the storage, retrieval, and updating of the source files. The RCS utilities covered in Part III are ci, co, rcs, and rlog.

Arguments

The file-list is a list of filenames—typically working filenames. For each, rcs looks for the corresponding RCS file in the subdirectory RCS of the working file's directory and then in the working file's directory. See “Notes” following for more about RCS and working filenames.
