KDE (K Desktop Environment),[1] written in C++, is an open-source, easy-to-use interactive/integrated desktop environment for UNIX and UNIX-like systems, including GNU/Linux. KDE terminology is slightly different from that of GNOME. This chapter covers KDE release 3.
