Giving Directions

INTRODUCTION

This chapter attempts to hone your skills of giving precise and clear directions to others, say to perform the particular task, to reach a particular place, to use a certain instrument effectively, etc. Engineers need to learn this form of communication thoroughly because all along their career they perform work that is practical. And they need to know the application for all their theoretical knowledge. The application of knowledge into practical work needs mental mapping and then verbal directions, which ultimately lead to the performing of the task. Not only engineers but many other professionals too need this skill of giving effective directions.
