The CO2 Paradox

As the global warming potential (GWP) of CO2 is 1 – compared to 1300–1500 for the HFC gases widely used for cooling, freezing and warming applications in today’s systems – substituting HFCs with CO2 represents a substantial reduction in the global warming potential.

Hence CO2 – ill-reputed in connection with all global warming debates – may actually be used to reduce global warming.
