DEFINING AUTHENTIC SUCCESS

Everyone must form his or her own definition of authentic success and periodically evaluate the continuing viability and truthfulness of the standard he or she has set. Interestingly though, the process for forming our sense of what is authentic, what is success, and determining whether we are living in accordance with our own criteria is reliably similar across humanity. The difference between success and authentic success is that the latter attends to what we care about and incorporates our values. It’s a reflection of the recognition of what is deeply meaningful to us. If well thought through, it’s balanced so we aren’t asking more of ourselves than is possible or healthy.
