CHALLENGE 49: TOO MANY MEETINGS

Project managers spend 50% of their time in meetings with stakeholders, and often they will spend 90% of their time in meetings. As a project manager, you need to closely monitor how you are spending your time. Are you spending your time on unimportant issues/meetings? If yes, you need to avoid attending the meetings, or try to delegate.

Some project managers have a strong urge to do everything themselves, as it gives them a feeling of control. To avoid this, build confidence in the person you are going to delegate the task to, and ascertain whether they are capable of doing the job as efficiently as you.
