CHALLENGE 34: PROJECT PROTOTYPE FAILURE

Project prototypes/demos are key deliverables to the client in projects where more user interactions are involved. For example, a mobility project, where the users will use their iPad/BlackBerry PlayBook to log-in and do some transactions.

Demos will give the users the confidence/trust in the project team, and will help to build a solid working relationship.

You don’t need to wait for the whole demo to be complete to understand what the users think, you can gauge their reactions inside the first 10 minutes of the presentation. If the demo is not to the point, or if they don’t see what they expect to see, some users may walk out of the presentation. It can be a very painful experience.
