Once the milestone plan and project costs are known, inform the key decision makers and/or all stakeholders about your project, to gain approval.

The upside is that management will then back you up to deliver the project within the agreed cost and time line.

Once you have gained approval from senior IT management, you will need to baseline the plan. By doing so, you commit to the dates and cost of the project; any deviations from these will not be acceptable without further approval from IT management, via the change management process.

The baseline plan is stored in the project repository and cannot be changed without prior approval.
