A project’s go-live can be classified as the IT go-live and the business go-live. By definition, IT go-live can be considered as the successful installation of the software, hardware and other components involved in the project deliverables. Post-installation, the system should be running without any issues, such as central processing unit (CPU) crash, memory crash, faults generated from the system, components crash and network crash.

Business go-live can be considered as when the end-users start using the system, enter data into the system, process the data, generate output and generate reports. The rollout plan is typically considered mainly for the business go-live.
