Some projects start with an end-date in mind, and irrespective of how complex the requirements are, project managers are given a mandate to deliver the project within those timescales. For example, when there is a project that has a go-live date just before Christmas, in order to leverage the Christmas festival season, the project manger has to ensure the project is completed before that deadline.
