Abstract

This chapter discusses the key radio-resource-management functionality relevant for LTE, including downlink and uplink scheduling and reporting of channel-state information.

The scheduler is a key element and to a large degree determines the overall behavior of the system. Both uplink and downlink transmissions are scheduled and, consequently, there is a downlink and an uplink scheduler in the eNodeB.
