Exercise 11.5. Refining the Moth Vector Field

Now that you’ve seen the basics of the behaviors, you can refine their parameters and change their weighting to make the moth simulation more realistic.

1.	Load the file MyMoths04.max from your folder, or load the file Moths04.max from the CD.
2.	Right-click in the viewport, choose Unhide by Name, and unhide the Vector Field.
3.	Select the Vector Field and go to the Modify panel. In the Obstacle Parameters rollout, in the Force section, set the Strength parameter to 10. You’ll see the vectors elongate in the viewport.
4.	Hide the Vector Field.
5.	Select the Crowd helper.
6.	On the Setup rollout, choose the Avoid Behavior from the pulldown list.
