Linking Objects to the Biped

To make the biped pick up an object, the process is quite straightforward. You simply link the object to another stationary object at first, and then use the Link Constraint controller to link the object to the biped’s hand at the appropriate moment.

Link Constraint allows an object to be linked to one object at first and then to be linked to another object at a specific frame. Although Link Constraint is a standard 3ds Max tool and not really part of Character Studio, this tool is needed so often by animators, that we have included an exercise for this object-linking procedure. (More information on Link Constraint is available in the 3ds Max manuals and online help.)
