Working with Keys

Sometimes it’s easiest to convert your footstep animation into freeform animation using the Convert button, and then continue animating using freeform. You begin with footsteps to solve the problem of creating convincing foot-to-ground contact, and then use freeform for the rest of your animation.

It’s important to remember that you must get the footstep placement and timing as close to perfect as possible before attempting to work with the rest of the body. This is necessary because keys for the body are reset every time you create keys for inactive footsteps.
