Animating the IK Settings

The IK Blend and Body/Object settings can be animated to cause a hand or foot to stay still sometimes and move with the body at other times—which, as you’ll recall from Chapter 1, is basically how a character walks: First a foot is stuck down to the floor while the remainder of the body moves. Then, when the other foot is planted on the floor, the foot moves along with the body.

Because the hands as well as the feet can be animated in this way, by animating IK Blend and Body/Object you can make a quadruped walk.
