Biped Basics

A biped is a set of linked objects that you can use as a skeleton for a character. The default skeleton contains humanoid body parts such as a head, spine, arms, and legs.

Tip

In plain English, the term biped refers to something with two feet.

Optionally, you may add a tail and other nonhuman body parts.

Although a biped consists of several objects, it is created as a single unit. You can set certain parameters such as the number of fingers and toes, but the biped is required to have certain parts such as a head, spine, and legs. You can hide these parts if you don’t want them in your scene.
