7. Other creation tools
Depth maps are a method of creating 3D objects from flat artwork, in which white appears high and black appears low. Although they might seem more primitive than the methods we’ve so far been using for creating our artwork, they offer a lot of flexibility with the potential for expressive design.
There are a couple of other, more specialized tools for building 3D objects – Spherical Panoramas, 3D Volumes and a way of making 3D objects using the Vanishing Point filter. We’ll look at all of these as well.
