Interoperability and Limitations
In general, we advise that Photoshop be the last step, or one of the last steps, in your production workflow since Photoshop has advanced rendering capabilities as well as the ability to do all of your touch-up work without having to leave the application. If you do plan on using multiple products to accomplish your work then we would advise that you use COLLADA as your main interchange format. Right now it is the one format we use that can represent most of the items we need to support on import or export. Photoshop CS5 is currently compatible with the 1.4.1 spec for COLLADA.
