Chapter 8. Advanced Materials and Post Processing

In this chapter, we will cover two topics: First, we will extend our CModel class to allow us to apply materials to objects per mesh rather than assigning materials to objects as a whole. This is important because often there are times where we do not want an entire model to have the same appearance. For example, the windows of a car shouldn't have the same reflectivity or transparency as the body of the car, or the tires or seats, but it would be a pain to try to work with each piece individually instead of as parts of a larger model, especially if we wanted to move the car, rotate it, and so on, and have each piece stay in position.
