Jodi Cobb worked as a staff photographer for National Geographic magazine starting in 1977, although her first assignment for them came years before. She began her career as a writer, but soon found that photography was her choice. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Cobb was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, won a World Press Award, and was honored by the National Press Photographers Association. In 1985 she was named White House Photographer of the Year.
