GREAT 55 IDEA: Produce an Independent Film

It's time to share a secret. During most summers, I take a break from the real world to work on an independent film. I love being part of a creative team, especially because writing books and columns can be lonely.

Although producing an independent film can be stressful and exhausting, there's something magical about transforming a script into something tangible with the hope that the film will be seen by at least a few people who think it's fabulous. (By the time you are reading this, Brief Reunion, the John Daschbach feature film I worked on in the blistering summer of 2010, may be in theaters or at least available online and on DVD.)
